Writing from the slip-box is about turning connections into linear text

When we reach the stage of writing something intended for publishing in some way, we're no longer in a mode of making connections or trying to understand the author. We're now in a mode that requires us to narrow down our focus and cut the fat—eliminate anything peripheral that isn't necessary to make the point. Pick a topic and only include that which contributes to the main arguments you are presenting.
