Liberalism has demonstrated its ability to evolve and adapt

Liberalism began with the liberty of middle class European men, but over time it grew to include all humans. It learned from communism to expand empathy to all others and to value equality alongside liberty. This led to the implementation of government welfare services to provide a social safety net—after all, what liberties can you enjoy if you are starving on the streets?
